PLACES AS POINTS

For “Places as Points,” I recreated everyday objects gathered from various places in plaster, then repositioned and photographed them as “roomscapes.” Each of these rooms is now a space where multiple places coexist, lacking any partitions or privacy. These recreated objects have lost their functions as everyday items, becoming mere bits of plaster. Possessing memories and history, these artworks prompt observers to imagine how people used or handled them.

“PLACES AS POINTS”は様々な場所から集められた日用品を石膏で再現し、部屋の風景として再配置して撮影した作品です。それぞれの部屋は複数の場所が共存する空間となり、そこには区別もプライベートもありません。再現されたオブジェは日用品としての機能を失い、ただの石膏の塊となり、記憶や歴史を持ち、そのオブジェが人々によって扱われたことを想起させます。
